The Club was formed in 1989 by 3 or 4 active wheelchair persons one isstill a member. The club has kept going with 10 to 14 active member'schanging year to year, some have left and returned, but others dueto there well being have had to stop. The club is always looking for new members from 6 years to 106 if your game so are we!

Hereward Heat Wheelchair Basketball Club was formed in October 1995. The majority of club members had previously been members of Cambridge Vikings WBC which, due to internal problems, disbanded a few months earlier. After discussions with the Great Britain Wheelchair Basketball Association, Hereward Heat were allowed to replace the two teams in the National League that Cambridge Vikings previously entered. Hereward Heat's entry into the 1995/1996 National League was accepted.

The Sussex Wheelchair Basketball Club and its League teams the TIGERS are currently the largest and oldest disabled sports club in Sussex.The club exists to provide access to training and National League matches for Wheelchair basketball Players in and around Sussex.
